The Acolyte is the most recent Disney+ Star Wars series that explored the story of Osha (Amandla Stenberg), a failed Padawan that found a new life hoping to escape her past.
The series reception was divided to say the least.
Many Star Wars fans were pleasantly surprised by the exciting new elements introduced, seeing the series as a fresh new take on the 47 year old franchise giving us a chance to see into the past of something that has yet to be seen in canon before.
However, many others saw the series as canon-breaking and an attempt of being ‘woke’ leading to excessive backlash throughout the weeks of airing.
The mixed reception left viewers unsure of what they wanted from the remainder of the story.
It has now been confirmed that Season 2 of the show will not take place, leaving many things left unanswered.
Manny Jacinto known for his well received role playing Qimir/ The Stranger recently expressed his sadness and hope for a potential return of the now cancelled series.
At 2024s Dragoncon hosted in Atlanta. Manny was asked the question…
'What is a personal life goal?'
To which he responded.
Manny Jacinto Dragoncon response was met with applause from the crowd who clearly agree with his statement and wish for more Acolyte content.
Qimir was a unique and interesting addition to the Star Wars universe and hopefully we can see more of him in the future. Never say never!
