From the full release back in 2011; Minecraft has dominated every platform its touched with over 166 million active players in the last 13 years. A game with endless imaginative capability, it deserves only the very best adaptation. Announced back in 2014; Mojang was in talks with Warner Bros for a full film development and now all these years later we have our first look at ‘A Minecraft Movie’ (2025).
"Four misfits – Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) – find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like piglins and zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Jack Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world."

With the most recent update we have been shown our first look at some iconic characters throughout the franchise alongside some familiar star studded faces.
Jack Black has taken the biggest role as Steve. The main character of the Minecraft story, combining both legendary comedy with a huge character certainly has us on the edge of our seat to see how he performs.
With a set release of the 4th April 2025, we all have more than enough time to get back to mining and refresh ourselves with the game we all know and love before seeing it on the big screen for the first time.
